School Wide Learning Expectations
A student of St. Polycarp School is expected to be:

1. A Faith-Filled, Christ-Like Follower of God who:
 
a) demonstrates knowledge of church teachings,
 b) demonstrates knowledge of church traditions,
 c) demonstrates Christian values in daily life,
 d) demonstrates a spirit of volunteerism,
 e) demonstrates respect for all of God’s creations,
 f) actively participates in parish life.

2. A Life-Long Learner who:
 
a) develops vocabulary in core-curricular areas;
 b) develops active listening skills with others;
 c) develops language proficiency to support all aspects of learning;
 d) develops critical thinking skills in all curricular areas;
 e) utilizes technology according to established rules;
 f) effectively manages time.


3. A Respectful and Compassionate person who:
 a) speaks honestly at all times;
 b) interacts fairly with others;
 c) demonstrates respect for diversity / other’s differences;
 d) speaks politely with others at all times;
 e) demonstrates proper (acceptable) manners;
 f) shows empathy by being sensitive to others’ needs.


4. A Responsible and Productive member of society who:
 
a) is able to discuss globally important issues at grade-level                 understanding
 b) demonstrates devotion to peace / social issues through volunteerism
 c) uses his/her abilities to set realistic personal goals;
 d) demonstrates perseverance throughout the learning process;
 e) exhibits self-governing behaviors;
